Amazon.com said Tuesday that the starting wage for the more than 125,000 U.S. employees it plans to hire in fulfillment and transportation roles would be above $18 an hour, and $22.50 in some locations.
The internet retailer and tech giant also said it would offer sign-on bonuses of up to $3,000 in select locations as it competes with other retailers for workers in a tight labor market. Amazon established a minimum wage of $15 an hour in 2018.
